Since the mid 1970's, the Oklahoma Springer Spaniel Club has led the effort to enhance our relationship with our dogs. Training spaniels has been our focus for nearly 5 decades.  Our membership consists of people and dogs from all walks of life.

And our membership is not confined to residents of Oklahoma.  The club is home for people and dogs from Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Nebraska, Colorado and beyond.  We all get together once a month or so to talk about training, hunting, new dogs, dogs long gone and just about everything else.

The OSSC has a strong heritage within the spaniel community that began with one of the most prominent icons within the spaniel world... Cliff Hankins. After moving to Oklahoma in the 70's, Cliff saw the need for a club in his new state.  Having previous experience starting a spaniel club in Colorado, it didn't take long for the Oklahoma club to gain members.  The strong foundation Cliff Hankins built into the Oklahoma Springer Spaniel Club has allowed us to continue for nearly 50 years.
